PPE FOR CARERS AND PERSONAL ASSISTANTS IN PRIVATE HOUSEHOLDS
During the Covid19 Crisis a significant amount of media attention is rightly being paid to issues surrounding the availability of personal protection (PPE) equipment for NHS, nursing, and care home staff, and home care agencies in Merseyside.
However, many other people live in their own homes and arrange for care and support to be provided to them. They also need PPE equipment for their employees and carers. Some people receive local and health authority direct payments whilst others privately pay for care and support. Other people receive informal, unpaid care and support. All may require PPE to keep themselves and those who care for them safe and well.
Click HERE to see the Government recommendations for the use of PPE in 'community care settings' (which includes a persons own home). We recommend that you bring this to the attention of your local authority if you need to contact them about your need for PPE.
We are keen to do all that we can to help connect Merseyside residents who live in their own homes with their local authority and with the public services who are making arrangements for the supply of PPE.
If you are a Merseyside resident you can contact your local authority directly about provision of PPE by following the links in the sections below. You will also find links to other local organisations that may be able to help.
