Sue Inker 

Susan’s background as a family lawyer spanned just under 20 years working in private practice both in London and in Surrey, representing vulnerable adults and children in both private and public law proceedings.

In 2004 Susan left practice to set up her own legal training consultancy and has for the last 10 years worked hard to develop her role as a sought after training consultant within the Adult and Child safeguarding field.

As a freelance trainer and consultant Susan has been commissioned to work with a range of different training providers to include CAADA (Co-Ordinated Action Against Domestic Abuse, Women’s Aid, Rights of Women, Manchester Probation IDAP programme, Bond Solon, Central Law Training and Care and Health Law.

Since 2007 Susan has specialised in the legal framework created by the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and in 2009 to 2012 was a visiting lecturer at Kingston University on the Best Interest Assessor course.

Susan is a regular speaker at conferences on both adult and child safeguarding matters.

In 2010 Susan was commissioned to deliver a project with a specialist child care set of barristers to develop their Court of Protection team.  The team were developed, a very successful conference followed and the Chambers are now one of the top sets for Court of Protection work in the UK.

In the last 10 years Susan has delivered a variety of law, evidence, procedure and best practice courses together with skill based training to a large number of local authorities for adult and children’s services, health authorities, regulators and provider organisations.

Susan is a highly motivated, dedicated, focused and passionate professional.  She is a highly competent trainer rated consistently as outstanding/excellent in post course evaluation by delegates. Susan believes in empowering herself and others to be “their best self” to enable them to make a difference to people’s lives in order to create equality and opportunity.

In her personal life Susan is immensely proud of, and enjoys spending time with her son, is an avid reader and pianist and enjoys walking by the river near her home when she is there!
